As per SEBI’s latest circular, there’s a major update in the weekly expiries of contracts.
From November 20, 2024, only SENSEX and NIFTY will have weekly expiries.
This move is in line with SEBI’s ongoing efforts towards investor protection and market stability.
This means weekly expiries on indexes like BANKNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, FINNIFTY, BANKEX, and SENSEX50 will be discontinued after this update comes into action.
Please note that monthly expiries remain unchanged for all these indexes and will be available for trade.
The last trading dates for these weekly contracts are mentioned below:

Reliance Jio Q2 Results posted 23 percent profit revenue also jump

▶️ The government has approved a new Rs 2,642 crore rail-road bridge across the Ganga river. The bridge will pass through Varanasi and Chandauli districts in UP and increase the existing railway network by about 30 km.

▶️ India’s trade deficit (exports minus imports) fell to $20.8 billion in Sept (vs $29.7 billion in Aug). Total exports fell to $34.58 billion (vs $34.71 billion), and total imports fell to $55.36 billion (vs $64.36 billion): Commerce Ministry.

🟢 Adani Enterprises: raised Rs 4,200 crore through a QIP (Qualified Institutional Placement).

🟢 L&T: got a 'significant' order from the UP Metro Rail Corporation to develop 2 phases of the Agra metro. A 'significant' order for L&T ranges from Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore.

▶️ Godrej Properties: won an auction for 6.54 acres of land in Navi Mumbai. It plans to build a premium residential project with a revenue potential of Rs 3,500 crore.

▶️ Bajaj Auto: reported a 31.42% year-on-year fall in net profit to Rs 1,385.44 crore in the July-Sept quarter. The board has also approved investing Rs 84 crore in its subsidiary, Bajaj Brazil.

Industrial production in India fell 0.1% year-on-year in August (vs a rise of 4.7% in July). Manufacturing rose 1%, mining fell 4.2%, and electricity production fell 3.7%: MoSPI.

💹 India’s forex reserves fell by $3.7 billion in a week to $701.2 billion as of 4 October.

Inflation in the US fell to 2.4% in September (vs 2.5% in Aug). The core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, rose to 3.3% in September (vs 3.2% in Aug).

💹 Hyundai India has fixed its IPO price band of Rs 1,865 to Rs 1,960 per share. The IPO will be open for subscription from 15 Oct to 17 Oct.

The RBI kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5% for the 10th time in a row. It also kept the GDP growth forecast for FY25 unchanged at 7.2%.

💹 Auto sales in India fell 9.26% year-on-year in September. 2-wheeler sales fell 8.51%, personal vehicle sales fell 18.81%, and commercial vehicle sales fell 10.45%. 3-wheeler and tractor sales rose 0.66% and 14.69% respectively: FADA.
