▶️ The government has approved a new Rs 2,642 crore rail-road bridge across the Ganga river. The bridge will pass through Varanasi and Chandauli districts in UP and increase the existing railway network by about 30 km.

▶️ Bajaj Auto: reported a 31.42% year-on-year fall in net profit to Rs 1,385.44 crore in the July-Sept quarter. The board has also approved investing Rs 84 crore in its subsidiary, Bajaj Brazil.

Industrial production in India fell 0.1% year-on-year in August (vs a rise of 4.7% in July). Manufacturing rose 1%, mining fell 4.2%, and electricity production fell 3.7%: MoSPI.

Inflation in the US fell to 2.4% in September (vs 2.5% in Aug). The core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, rose to 3.3% in September (vs 3.2% in Aug).
